Goodrise

Wake up calm. Win the day.

Privacy policy

Short version: Goodrise keeps your mornings on your phone. There is no account to create, no server that stores your history, and no analytics service watching you use the app. It goes online for three narrow jobs, described below: to check your subscription, and to download the sounds it plays and the photo model.

Camera

Photographs never leave your phone. Each morning’s photo is used only on your device and deleted as soon as the step finishes. When the object check is on, a model running on your device checks the photo first, and a resized copy it uses is deleted with it. A photo is never uploaded and never saved to your photo library. Only the outcome is kept, so your history can show the morning.

Microphone

The affirmation reset can listen while you read your line aloud, to follow along with you. Your phone’s own speech recognition, running on the phone itself, lights up each word as you read it; where a phone cannot do that, Goodrise measures only how loud the room is. Nothing you say is recorded, saved or sent anywhere, and the recognised words are not kept. If you type the line instead, the typed text is checked and discarded.

Subscriptions: Apple, Google and RevenueCat

Payments are taken by Apple or Google; we never see your payment details. To check whether your subscription is active, the app uses RevenueCat, a subscription service. RevenueCat receives an anonymous identifier created for this install and the store’s record of your purchase. It does not receive your name, your alarms, your photographs or your history.

Sounds and guided sessions

Some guided sessions, voices and soundscapes are downloaded the first time you play them, along with a short list of what is available, from assets.goodrise.app and goodrise-assets.klyr.ai, which we host on Cloudflare. These are plain file requests: the host sees your IP address as it would for any download, and nothing about you is sent with them.

The model download

The model that checks your photographs is about 445 MB and is downloaded once, after purchase, over Wi-Fi unless you start it yourself, rather than shipped inside the app. It is a plain file request to GitHub, which sees your IP address as it would for any download. Nothing about you is sent with it.

Notifications

The alarm screen and the optional bedtime reminder are scheduled on your phone. There is no push server.

Children

Goodrise is not directed at children.

Your data, your call

Settings has Delete my data: it cancels your alarms and erases your history, settings and promise from this phone immediately. Deleting the app does the same. Your subscription stays with your Apple or Google account until you cancel it there.

Changes

If this ever stops being accurate, this page changes in the same release, not after it. Questions to support@goodrise.app.
